What is a Financial Planner?

My name is Cassandra Spitzer, I am a Certified Financial Planner™ professional and Financial Advisor with Waddell & Reed. I help my clients put their financial households in order so they have more time to take care of their families and start down a path to pursuing their life goals and dreams.

I believe the financial planning process is made up of a few simple questions:

  1. Where are you now? What are you currently doing to pursue your financial goals?
  2. Where do you want to be in the future? Can you get there from here? Are you on track?
  3. If you aren’t on track, you probably need to rethink your plan.

Based on your input and the particulars of your situation, I can create a plan with recommendations designed to help you pursue your financial goals.

In the process of doing this, I see myself as having several different roles.

I can be your teacher: I can share my knowledge and help equip you with the tools so you can make informed decisions.

I can be your life coach: together we can identify what is important to you and then translate those values and dreams into realistic financial goals.

I can be your concierge: we can explore your options and then apply “what if” scenarios to plan for life’s unexpected events. What if the unthinkable happens and you can’t work? What if your spouse dies, what will happen to your family?

I can be your task master. I can hold you accountable for the actions you agreed to take to support your plan. Are you saving enough for retirement? Are you nurturing a healthy emergency fund? Are you managing your consumer debt?

I can be your cheerleader to celebrate your life’s victories, great and small.

I can be your navigator to guide you through the rocky patches and keep you focused on what’s important to you.

When you need financial advice, I can provide you with that too.

I believe everyone needs a plan. If you do nothing, whatever you are currently doing is your default plan which may or may not be carefully thought out. If I’ve piqued your curiosity about planning or you are not really sure what to think, this is my offer to you: I can sit down with you for 45 minutes. There is no cost or obligation. This meeting is confidential. It is your opportunity to ask me questions particular to your situation. If you would like to do this, contact me at (360) 714-3376 and we can negotiate a time to meet.
